A diamond shield would not be pointless, as diamonds are one of the hardest natural materials and would provide excellent protection against many types of attacks. However, it would be very expensive and heavy, making it impractical for most situations. Additionally, while diamonds are extremely hard, they can still be brittle and could potentially shatter under extreme force, so a shield made entirely of diamonds may not be the most effective option for defense. **
