If an officer has been on leave of absence, the decision to reinstate them would depend on factors such as the reason for their absence, their performance history, and any relevant departmental policies. In some cases, officers may be reinstated after a leave of absence, while in other cases, they may not be eligible for reinstatement. Ultimately, the decision would be made by the police department based on their specific policies and the individual circumstances of the officer in question. **

This function ensures that once an employee has been terminated, they cannot be reinstated into their previous position or any other position within the company. This helps maintain the integrity of the termination process and prevents the company from rehiring employees who were terminated for valid reasons. Additionally, it helps protect the company from potential legal issues that could arise from rehiring a terminated employee. **
